The idea: fewer materials, stronger relationships
The project uses a concise set of materials, then creates depth through changes in scale, texture and sheen. Pale stone forms the base, mineral finishes connect walls with light, and timber brings warmth to touchpoints.
Joints are part of the composition
Panel lines, joinery edges and openings were coordinated as one rhythm. Removing unnecessary lines lets each surface read clearly without competing for attention.
Samples were reviewed in place
Large samples were positioned near windows and artificial lighting to reveal undertones throughout the day. Timber depth and wall texture were then adjusted against the stone.
A transferable lesson
Calm does not require one material. It comes from giving every surface a role, keeping the palette concise and resolving junctions before fabrication.
